Black Book (I thought Verhoeven improved on his Soldier of Orange)
Atonement (Hadn't read the book so was fairly surprised by it)
Tell No One (Intriguing thriller)

Honourable mentions to The Bourne Ultimatum (just ran out of steam a little towards the end).
Transformers (Popcorn, but good popcorn)

Everyone I know keeps telling me to see The Lives of Others and Control. I'm sure I won't be disappointed when I do.

Good films both, especially TLOO.

Here's my favorites:

Atonement
The Counterfeiters
The Assasination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford

I'll probably add No Country For Old Men to the list judging from some of the reviews.

On TV: Life on Mars, Spooks and Cranford.

Not all released this year but watched this year
Little miss sunshine
The rocket post
The Departed
Notes on a scandal
Monsieur Hulots Holiday (seen it before but watched it with the family for the first time , they all loved it )
Red Road ( A bit uncomfortable in places and very raw and gritty ,but quite compelling trying to figure out the mindset of the main character )
Blood Diamond
I would have loved to have followed up the Bourne collection of films but I felt motion sickness while watching the Bourne Supremacy , due to the fast paced camera work and the Car chase ( Brilliant though It was ) Maybe I should give it another try

BLACK BOOK
AMAZING GRACE

Purchased them recently and watched them on consecutive nights ,WOW !!

The same Inhuman theme runs through both films , doesn't it make you wonder about the "So called " Civilised world ?

I thought there were some exceptional performances in both films ,especially Carice van Houten ,along with a very fine dutch cast.

I do think there is still hope for Britain when we can turn out the cast we did for Amazing Grace , along with the excelllent Albert Finney , he is definitely like a fine wine

Well, I've only seen one film that has been released this year so it has to be my favourite.
