Default Madonna's a movie director!

I'm sure all of those many people, both new to the industry and established names, who have struggled unsuccessfully for years to get a pet project off the ground will be feeling a warm glow at this news.

Somehow Madonna has managed to surmount the obstacles and direct her first film.

Bravo!!

That's what happens when you are a multi-millionaire global icon and have inside contacts ..... it's not a new phenomenon. Try to think Prince with Purple Rain (quite a decent film) and James William Guercio with Elektra Glide in Blue (an excellent film).

"Electra Glide in Blue" is a great film, the one and only directing credit of record producer James William Guercio, I did read an article many years ago that suggested that the film was in fact mainly directed by its cinematographer Conrad Hall because Guercio was out of his head most of the time on drugs , whether thats true or not who knows but the film does owe a lot to Conrad Hall, the visuals are stunning and Hall had a good working relationship with actor Robert Blake as Conrad Hall had also photographed "In Cold Blood".

She writes books too... strewth, is there no end to her talent? Congratulations are surely in order - she must have found an agent whose client list was not full and somehow that agent got her a publishing contract too.

There's hope for us all yet.
