..

Is that macho? That would seem to come under the "psychotic" heading...

Not always the same thing.

Hereafter, in a better world than this,
I shall desire more love and knowledge of you

I have heard the 'tart' line somewhere .... The Sweeney perhaps?

Don't miss out on a chance to win a rare film in Bat-Quiz 13 closing date - 31/8/8.

I don't know if this is macho or not but it's a line I like.

In John Boorman's Excalibur Nigel Terry is Arthur and Nicol Williamson is Merlin. Merlin is dead but appears to Arthur in his dreams. Arthur asks if Merlin is a dream...Merlin replies:

"A dream to some, A NIGHTMARE TO OTHERS"

Quality!

I am surprised that so many of these seem to equate swearing with macho .... interesting.

From Monty Pythons Holy Grail...The Black Knight... `Tis but a scratch` ,King Arthur.. `But your arms off`, The Black Knight...`I`ve had worse.`you can`t get more macho than that considering his plight at the time.

Clint Eastwood as 'Dirty Harry', in that icy growl: "You feel lucky, punk?"

How about the following from a war film (battled-hardened older soldier to younger, nervy soldier) :
"It's a lousy war, son, but it's the only one we got!"
Any idea what movie, Bats?

I'm as mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore!

Default Zulu.

I rather like the Colour Sgt in Zulu.

Timid soldier surveying all the Zulus surrounding the farm and asking why it's them.

'Because we're here Laddie' says Colour Sgt, proper macho man him, not Hollywood anywhere!

.....You couldn't hear it, if they were shooting at me with howitzers!

There are so many great lines in British films that could be described as macho but one that did stand out for me was in "The Wild Geese". The soldiers were pinned down and as the other side were charging down on them one of the younger men said "We're dead" to which his drill sergeant said "You're not dead until I say you are!"
