Angry Channel 4 Suck At Showing Movies!

Classic example today,Seven Days Till Noon(cracking film),about 5 minutes to the end a bloody full length banner of whats on next bottom of the screen.Film4 are just as bad with their squashed end credits,i dont need to be told whats on next,i can press a button on the remote.

But it would appear that their research tells them that that is what their viewers want - and if you believe that, you'll believe anything

It is truly pathetic that they treat their viewers as morons.

Channel 4 aren't alone in doing this. ITV talk over the end soundtracks of films. That would be bad enough, but the end credit sequence is usually cut down to almost nothing anyway. Very annoying if you want to check credits or listen to the music.

Film Four are promising two weeks of British movies in their ad-breaks at the moment. Not sure when it starts.

I know their ad breaks are long but surely they're not that long!

That so anoys me too, why do they have to do it as you said just look at your tv book or press a button on your remote, so many films have been ruined by this annoying habit.

No doubt as to the one I'm most looking forward to - The Riddle of the Sands

Delighted [especially for orpheum ] to see they're also showing Those Glory Days.

I have heard it suggested that TV companies do that to stop viewers recording movies and keeping them till kingdom come, thus avoiding buying DVDs and starving the makers of royalites. 7 Days To Noon is available on DVD. Worth every penny, too.

That thought had gone through my head as well. It certainly makes sense - from a commercial stance

Is there any other stance in this benighted age?

. . . Incidentally, Fell, yours is my favourite avatar on this site.

Cheers,
