So I think we're generally all agreed that we wouldn't watch a Steven Segal film!

I'm quite fond of Steven Seagal - but then I have been known to nod approvingly at the prospect of watching early Chuck Norris movies.

My nomination for a film I've always disliked intensely goes to A Fish Called Wanda. There is so much I loathe about it I am getting annoyed even writing this....OK I'm calm again now. Where to begin? Any film which thinks it can get laughs by having one character torture another while threatening the death of a beloved pet (OK its a goldfish but so what? ) while also thinking its fun to have dogs killed by heavy falling objects is just, well..... I could go on ( and on ) but I think I should stop as I am starting to hyperventilate.

Stealing Beauty - I'm not a Bertolucci fan at the best of times but this combines his ( IMO ) usual pretentiousness with some blatant pervy exploitation of its young star, topped off with a cast of thoroughly unlikeable characters. A couple of Bert's admirers descended on me like the wrath of God when I dared voice criticism of the 'great man' which makes me dislike it even more :-)

Anyone with a vestage of good taste would avoid my wife's DVD collection like it had a severe dose of Botulism. She would watch Arnie whatsisname...you know, the guv of California chap, and turn her nose up at the Lavendar Hill mob!... I almost heard you gasp, but it's true. When it comes to films I'm affraid her indoors is a cave dweller of biblical proportions, bless her.

I trust you won't be exacting any form of retribution on her such as you may have done many years ago - allegedly.

Her indoors is, as I write, watching Mission Impossible!

I'm a tortured man I tell you, no one should not have to put up with this. I have all these classic films and she wants to watch Tom Cruise!

Now do you believe me?

Perhaps we wouldn't blame you anyway!

Mrs Fell is watching Barnsley v Cardiff. Mind you, I did get asked earlier why I wasn't recording The Railway Children yet again - I didn't dare say that I was but as it was straight onto the recorder's HD it wasn't obvious. I think I got away with it.

I think that watching a Tom Cruise film can be used as grounds for divorce imo.
