I remember watching this film as a child, it must have made an impression because I never forgot it, although as a child I could never remember the title. Years later I was watching an old film and it suddenly dawned on me that it was "that" film, the film I hadn't seen for probably more than thirty years but I still rememberd it. I've since bought the DVD and watched it again (a few times) a superb film.

I read that Hitchcock in order to make Joan Fontaine look timid and insecure confidentialy told her that the rest of the cast didn't like her, weather this is true or not I have no idea but if he did it certainly had the desired effect.

As I'm sure most of you know Joan Fontaine had quite an interesting background...
