I agree - I don't like Carlsberg myself. I'm a Carling man.

Two come to my mind:Untouchables and The Fugitive:never tire of watching either.

davidb, It was mostly the general comedy show to big(gish) screen I meant, but even THe Thunderbirds films don't hold a candle to the series. To be honest I've never dared watch either of The Sweeney flicks, expecting them both to be lame. Marky B (any realtion ?) both the shows you mention are Yankee and I was thinking Britmovie when I posted.

Akira Kurosawa's "Kakushi-toride no san-akunin" (1958) ("The Hidden Fortress")
was also an inspiration for George Lucas' "Star Wars IV: A New Hope" (1977).

(I liked both films.)

Default Spot on J.J.

You're absolutely right J.J. "Star Wars" is a "Hidden Fortress"/"The Searchers" hybrid.
By my comment on "The Searchers" I meant the basic plot of a mean bloke and a nice geezer chase all over the gaff for a girl that's been kidnapped by baddies.

I am so glad david , thought I was a freak, never could get into that film heard female friends raving about it so had to see it, what a letdown, irritated me , NottingHill one too didnt like that but then I dont rate Julia Roberts at all, or Hugh Grant.

With four weddings and a funeral I was put off STRAIGHT away by the constant F word at the very beginning, I mean.......why?

It was sad that that actress died so young though. Very sad.

No,we are not related (which part of Britain are you from?). I know both were American, but they are two spin-offs from tv shows which I really enjoyed.

the first sweeney film was too political and didnt resemble the tv show ,the second put things right ,plenty of sawn off shotguns ,mk 2 jags being written off and " you wont take me alive copper" type dialogue ,a criminal gang led by murphy out of murphys mob ,.....wonderful ! ive got a box set of the 2 of them for £4.99 from play.com
