Default Annoying actor traits

Not really the actors fault, but the director, but I get so angry and annoyed by actors eating and talking at the same time, it drives me nuts, anyone else get upset by this or what gets you on edge. Surely its not what you call real acting and to be honest very bad manners.

Real people talk and eat at the same time so why shouldn't it be portrayed on screen. A character's habits add to the viewer's understanding of that character .... check out Brando as Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire.

You'd love Powell and Pressburger films - nobody ever finishes the first course in those

Yes it is bad manners and it's so disgusting I stopped watching Frost because of it - he was doing it in every episode - and often more than once - as if it was his trademark sort of thing. I just couldn't stomach it any longer, so I gave up on the show. Same with that other ugly repulsive character, Dalziel, and there was another one, same thing, can't remember the name of it. Seems to be the trend in all those cop shows, I think, and I suppose it's to show cops are so busy they just have to eat on the hoof all the time.
Not only cop shows of course.

Just because some ignorant people do it in real life doesn't mean it has to be portrayed on the screen. A lot of people pick their noses, too. And I used to have a boss who was always scratching his balls.

You've just described a scene I did actually see in a movie once... now what was it? - - - - can't remember.

There are a lot of things that people do in real life that needn't be seen on film. Sexual acts, extreme violence, mental cruelty are all up on the silver screen for our 'entertainment'. I find someone slobbering over a bacon buttie or scratching their backside far less offensive than seeing limbs removed in graphic detail.

But what about the limbs that had to be removed to make the bacon sarnie?

What I hate is when someone (usually male, usually young) goes to the fridge, takes out a bottle of milk and proceeds to drink from it. What do they do with it after, put it back in the fridge for other people to use?! Yuk!

I also agree about the eating and talking at the same, but do admit that in certain dramas it can inform us about the character, Brando in A Streetcar Named Desire is a good example.

BTW Shirlgirl's boss must have been something else!
