Dusty was one of the finest female singers we have ever produced - could Nicole justify the voice,is my question?

Nicole could mime to Dusty's recordings......I don't want to hear a feeble imitation of Dusty's distinctive voice.......I think Billie Piper would have been better casting.....

Default I'm no Dusty expert but...

I'm no Dusty expert but wasn't she originally from Australia ? i'm no fan of muisc bio films, but that's probably because I'm too picky. Is there enough conflict in Dusty's life to make a good film ? Don't get me wrong I think "Dusty In Memphis" one of the finest records ever made and would recommend it to anyone. But a musicians life is in reality often quite dull and more repetitive than many might imagine.

According to Wikipedia:

Mary Isabel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien was born in West Hampstead to Irish parents, and was brought up in the West London borough of Ealing.

Mary O'Brien, obviously, is our Dusty.

Default Got that one wrong

Thankyou your Lordship, for some reason I thought The Springfields were Australian. For neither the first or last time I'm wrong.

The film will chronicle Dusty's rise to stardom in the 60s - and her battles with drugs, booze and mental health problems.

... the script will not shy away from her bisexuality. "It will be the real Dusty, a great artist who no one knew what to do with.

Another barrel of laughs then!

I remember coming across something in a 'paper or magazine about Dusty living in Hove with her parents, after she became famous.

I think Nicole will do a great job, if she puts her mind to it............. but isn't she a little bit pregnant at the moment?

Nothing has officially been decided as yet, there has been talk of a Dusty bio on and off for several years, for the past two or so it was thought that Kristen Chenoweth was all set to play her, but that came to nothing......

Dusty-the Musical is coming to Britain this Autumn, starting off in London then a tour of the Provinces, this Musical has been a huge success in Australia!

Belonging to two Dusty forums I'll keep 'em peeled and update this thread as and when!
