The Best Tv Spin-off Movies

Defintely agree that the spinoff films contains reworking of some of the tv script, Nearest and Dearest is a good example. The first "Steptoe film." is based on material from one of the black and white episoded of the sxites when Harold is about to walk down the aisle.

This has reminded me that much maligned Laruel and Hardy features made at Fox and MGM were full of re-hahes of routinef form their Hal Roach days, a good example of this is the auction scene from their ,"Dancing Masters" feature of 1943 a direct steal from their earlier ."Thicker Than Water" movie their very last short feature made in 1935.

It's a guilty pleasure but I have to watch Bless This House every time it's on Film4 on a Sunday evening. Which means I have seen it 357 times without ever having seen the tv series.

this kind of thing is a pattern with these films but why was the son replaced with robin askwith in that film ? they always have to change something that your comfortable with .if its not the music its the regular guests or supporting actors

I must say that I particularly disliked this film because the action was removed from the school, the teaching staff and Norman Potter, who along with Hedges, were the main comedy focus of the series in my eyes.

When I was a kid I saved my pocket money to see I Only Arsked, the Army Game spin-off, to be disappointed by the action being transferred from the camp to the Middle East.

I can only think that it wa because RA was popular at the time because of the Confessions films.

Apparently it was at the request of Sid because he thought the tv actor was very unprofessional about learning his lines and timekeeping. I think he might have recommended Robin Askwith after working with him in Carry on Girls (or possibly the other way round)

With you there Captain. Sally Geeson in her bikini is not to be missed. And also the wonderful Julian Orchard (not in a bikini, at least not in the version I keep watching).

Not sad at all, this movie was always shown over the festive season, always brings back happy memories.
