I remember watching The Guns of Navarone at the cinema (before the days of video, when films were getting re-released long after they were made) and how we all cheered when the guns blew up and the ships of the Royal Navy whooped in delight. Likewise when the shark was blown up in Jaws and big hurray erupted in the cinema;and Indiana Jones' near epic fight with a swordsmen in Raiders of the Lost Ark,ended abruptly with Indy shooting him instead and we all applauded .
Do anyone else remember the magic of sharing emotions at the local flix? Ta Ta Marky B

No, but I can remember watching Taras Bulba at the Embassy Cinema, Esher - with Tony Curtis as a rather unlikely Cossack - and the usherette shining her torch round the cinema asking loudly if everyone was enjoying the film!
