Just had an email from The Observer to say that a DVD of "Dont Look Know" will be included free with the paper this coming Sunday (9th April). Great film, stays in the memory.

There have been some fantastic giveaways recently. We've had The Long Good Friday, The Wicker Man and The Go-Between in recent months and now Don't Look Now. And with The Daily Mail's upcoming Ken Russell giveaway we are being spoiled!

Don't Look Now is a superb film, gonna make sure I get down the shops early for that one!

Out of interest, is there anyone here who ordered the Carry On films from the Sun recently (using the tokens inside)? If so, have you received them yet? It must have been almost 2 months ago now that I sent them off, and I'm still waiting. (And to think I had to endure the humiliation of buying that rag for a week... )

Well at least I'm not the only one who's had this problem. I rather suspect they underestimated demand and have been caught short.

I started watching it when I was doing my ironing this afternoon and after 20 minutes or so the ironing suddenly became infinitely more interesting. I think it's something to do with the 1970s self-indulgent era of film making when the flute is blowing a gale in the background, there's too much close camera work, too much scene switching, short snippets of clinically dead dialogue, the bed scene is bizarre and more to the point, it's taking too long to get to the point! So far the characters are fairly weak, the perms are annoying but I will give it another try later on in the hope that it will suddenly lose all the padding and snap into some sort of meaningful story! But the good news is that I picked up The Great Escape for £3.99 in the HMV sale today!
