Default "Charade" Free DVD in Sunday Express

If you want a laugh, check out the DVD given away last year with the Sunday Express. I haven't seen such poor quality on any DVD before.

The print is scratched and washed out, the sound is terrible and about a quarter of the right hand side is off screen.

All in all it's a bit of a joke. Good job it was free.

They are not doing the industry any favours by allowing something like this out.

Bah Humbug.

You think that was bad?

The Sun gave away a copy of Strictly Ballroom. It was a great movie, but to get it to run I had to use so much Pledge that I expected a remake of House of Wax.

The thing is, how do you categorise these freebies? If you stack 'em close together, how can you tell from the very thin spine the one you want? Do you put them into their own cases, thereby decreasing you library shelf?

Any thoughts guys and gals?

I keep mine in a pile near my computer all filed alphabetically by director so if I want to find a certain film it doesn't take me that long to find it.

I assume you are refering to the 60d film due to its multiple directors rather than the 50s televison version. I don't have it on dvd but I do on video. I also file all my vhs videos by director and i've stuck 'Casino Royale' under Val Guest purely because he is my favourite of the directors involved and I am trying to build up a collection of his films.

There seems to have been a slump in free newspaper DVD movies lately! Does this mean I'll have to go out and start buying films again?

I know they've had a few TV programmes free like Coast but it's been repeated so often on Freeview that I don't think I'd want to keep copies.

Strangely, my local Sainsburys had copies both with and without the DVD offer. Luckily, I wasn't bothered about the film, so I wasn't tempted to buy the Daily Hate!
