Well, ordinarily I would agree with you, but I've become addicted to collecting all these 'free' film dvd's that the weekend papers will insist on offering, so if the Mule had a film I wanted, I'd probably shell out my hard earned.
That said, I didn't bother with the Morse last weekend, even though some poor shop assistant was asking everyone that passed if they would like a copy of the paper!

Thanks for the tip-off about "The Highlander" - that will be a must get for me (as will Dune, though I never really got into the original novels!)

A bit late now I know but if any of the following is of interest, I suspect they will appear on eBay soon... [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img]
The Sun (yesterday) had "Conan The Destroyer" and The People (today) had "Carry On Up The Khyber" - these in addition to the previously mentioned 'free' DVD's in other papers.
Alas, my local newsagent had sold out of The Observer, so I missed out on "Dune"
The "Highlander" disc isn't bad - no menu that I can see, but you can at least skip between scenes and there are no obligatory trailers at the start.

Also "Hot Black Meat" available with this months FORBIDDEN FLESH MONTHLY - A publication for vegetarians.

I work part-time in an Oxfam bookshop and all free cd's and dvd's that are given away with newspapers turn up eventually...

I'm a huge fan Closely Observed Trains(I'm told it's one of Ken Loach's favourite movies) and i shelled out £15.00 for the Criterion version. I also think it's very humorous even if that humour is mixed with sadness. The stamping of the girls bottom was a very funny scene indeed.

According to Saturdays Daily Mail, there will be a free Catherine Cookson DVD in this weekends paper and then a Free DVD every day for the following 2 weeks, I think they are Romance ones from Jilly Cooper,Jackie Collins etc....
