<span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%"><span style="font-size:14pt;line-height:100%"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman">How do you find out what DVD's are given away with what paper beforehand. As a retired old coddger, I usually do all my wanderings including shopping weekdays when others are at work and rarely venture further than the greenhouse on Sundays. If however there's a free film on offer it's worth the walk to the paper shop. I have searched the internet but cannot find any information prior to publication. I know they usually advertise thier give aways on Saturday evening televison but program content are usually so poor Saturday we watch a film, sometimes the one given away the previous Sunday.

I usually try and post Free DVD information on this forum well in advance of the newspaper publication, so Frank just keep your eye on this forum. In any case you will have to wander up to your newsagent tomorrow Sunday 30 October for your purchase of The Sunday Times with the free DVD of "Heat And Dust".
That information has been on this forum for several days now!

Just picked up the TIMES for a copy of "Heat and Dust" and the PEOPLE are offering " The best of Jasper Carrot", that'll be good for a laugh and only 80p. The papers probably rubbish but who cares that will eventually be re-cycled by the council.

I don't buy newspapers unless there's a good film want included. Fortunately my mother-in-law does and posts all the free CDs and DVDs to me every few weeks.

I have just watched the Sunday Times' HEAT AND DUST promo. As I have come to expect. the sound quality was absolutely abysmal and I spent the entire movie moving the volume control up and down. Still, the free paper did contain some fantastic chocolate cake recipes!

Thanks for the details - I saw that NOTW would be offering "Scrooge" this weekend (on a newsgroup) but didn't know which version!

Brilliant! I'll sacrifice my principles and buy that rag just to get the film, which in my worthless opinion is the definitive version of the Scrooge story, and remembering it from childhood Christmas films on TV it was quite scary as well! Alistair Sim was born to play Scrooge!

After what I have said in the past to friends & family about that pnewspaper.-I think I'll have to send the wife to buy it.

I too was thinking about sacrifising my principles to get a cheap copy of this great film. However I have just seen an advert for it on itv and is seems to be the colourised version. If there is an option on the dvd to watch the black and white version then I will get it but otherwise i'm not going to bother.

Anyone know
