The Gay Dog, and other Eros distributed films, belong to Renown Pictures, who are still going.

Thanks James. I have been told there's a chance that could make it to DVD next year on Odeon, so I guess they know that already. But it's useful info. I notice it says: "DVD Availability Worldwide". What's that about then?

That refers to distribution availability, if you want to license it.

Aah, I see. Thanks. I'll keep my fingers crossed, although Petula herself HATED working on that film (Wilfred Pickles wife Mabel was constantly clock-watching to make sure Petula didn't get more screen time than her husband!).

hi Brief Encounter,
i presume you already have the 2 classic films that Petula Clark appears in with the great Roger Livesey, 'I Know Where I'm Going' (1945) and 'Vice Versa' (1948) as they have both been released on DVD.
I hope Granada International and the others get their act together and release all these films VERY SOON, preferably with lots of extras!.

most of the Huggetts films, including Holiday Camp, pop up now and again on ebay on video format or DVD-R (one seller has all 4 together at a reasonable price - can't vouch for the quality though - most of the copies i end up with tend to be just o.k. quality).

it was about time too that 'The Card' was released - EVERY Alec Guinness film should be available.

i'm not a huge fan of hers (just a bit of a fan) but every time i hear her sing out in the church/assembly scene in 'Goodbye Mr. Chips' - WOW what a voice! - and 'Downtown' is a classic of course.

Yes I do have the commercially released DVDs. Although I can't agree that 'Vice Versa' is a classic!

I bought my Huggett films from that ebay seller on DVD - quality is pretty good.

Thankfully, 'The Card' has recently made it to DVD. Check out DD Home Entertainment – A great choice of DVDs and videos
