In Liverpool which in 2008 becomes the city of culture, The Woolton Cinema has finally closed its doors. First started in the 1920s it has never become a multiplex and was a great local family outing. Sadly the death of the owner meant it had to look for a new buyer but none has been forthcoming.
![]() The web site and more photos can be found here www.wooltoncinema.co.uk - Home To quote the web site 'Realistically there are more than likely twice as many property developers showing an interest for every one cinema operator' I have counted more than 27 cranes just on the riverfront. In the city of culture to be, the money men are building apartments and shopping malls. I came, I saw, I did some shopping. Bugger all to do with anything else. Freddy |

![]() This can go on for some time. How many other towns can I be rude about? I'm sure Slough should be in the list somewhere soon - the Slough of Despond I've been to Warrington & Swindon recently as well. Neither of them are very inspiring or exciting. Steve |
