The Italian "Iso" company were famed for making scooters but decided to build cars to rival Ferrari and Lamborghini by blending Italian styling with American engineering to produce a 5 litre + petrol guzzling monster. Very stylish cars without a doubt but possibly not much good to Bond in a chase situation as the petrol gauge would visibly race towards zero in proportion to the speedos race to the higher figures on the dial which would mean a detour every few miles to the nearest petrol station for our hapless hero!!
yes it is an Iso Grifo and was driven by the man who was sort of Bond in a Bond rip off...any guesses?

He road tests a classic 1969 Lamborghini Islero S, but this isn't just any old lambo. Its the actual car used in the Roger Moore film "The Man Who Haunted Himself" and which Buckley describes "as stealing a remarkable amount of screen time as the vehicular representation of the repressed hero's more flamboyant alter ego" The car is in showroom condition which is nice to hear though it has since changed colour from the pale blue as it featured in the film to silver, and the interior has been re-trimed in red leather, and it looks a very good combination. There were only a handful of cars in right hand drive, this of course being one of them, the current reg of the car is MDM 262G so I shall be looking out for it as it lives in London, so a good chance it may turn up at the odd classic car show. Original price in 1969 was £7400, the other classic Lambo of that year was the "Muira" driven in the opening credits of "The Italian Job" The Muira cost £9500 in 1969 so the Islero was considered a bargain at the time. Current values are £90k for a show condition Islero and £200k plus for a Muira. Its a tough decision as to which to buy, I think I'll go for the Islero! (when I win the lottery)
im more of a practical classics man myself but i will have a look out for that issue

they did indeed make scooters every bit as stylish as their competitors vespa and lambretta ,yet they didnt capture the success the other two had ?
