Well he made some rather brilliant films didn't he, I also thought he made a couple of misses as well, I wasn't keen on Frenzy or Torn Curtain. I liked the fact that he shot many of his films in Vista Vision which gave the image a surreal like clarity, but talking of locations I think he was a master at fooling us into beleiving some of the studio sets were real locations, I think he liked to construct a lot in the Studio, such as in Rear Window and North by North West and I always felt that some of the studio sets of exteriors etc in Marnie were not that convincing, though I have to admit I haven't seen the film for a while so I should go and have another look, my favourit Hitchcock is North by North West followed by To Catch a Thief, Cary Grant was perfectly cast in those films I think.

Aye weel, nae problem jimmy, nae herd feelins, and as ma auld grannie used tae say "lang mae yer lum reek!" Cheers. which roughly translated means "I hope your chimney smells for a long time insofar as you have enough coal to keep you warm over winter time!!" in other words a term of endearment, wishing you a warm and healthy life!!! Your apology is graciously accepted though I wasn't that offended really, I've been living south of the border too long!!
