I can't believe that any actress could portray her as well as Steve Nallon.
His performance was as uncannily accurate as Alistair McGowan's current impression of the ineffable Richard Madeley.
On reflection, perhaps Steve was a little too kind to her. :

WILL A MODERATOR PUT A WARNING ON THIS THREADS TITLE?

"Warning - may produce wanton spitting onto screens, keyboards, rib-splitting laughter as readers fall off of their chairs".

Lordy lord...

Oh well, the screen and keyboard probably needed a good mopping.

Good call.

Come to think of it, Margaret Hamilton would be ideal

You're not far wrong there! Could be a fight between her and Edwina Currie.

Margaret Thatcher's name was Margaret Roberts before she married Dennis.
Hence, my suggestion for Julia Roberts to play Maggie ....

I never realised that Maggie has such great legs....

Clearly, a musical is called for ! I can see Maggie displaying those wonderful legs in a lavish tap routine HALLEUJAH ! with male chorus of camp sailors on the deck of HMS Invincible......

Think Anne Miller in HIT THE DECK, or is Betty Grable still available?
