Very interesting, fascinating even, but it makes most people feel very uncomfortable. It's now regarded as a classic of the genre, one of the first of the genre as well. It's a physchological horror film. There isn't lots of blood and gore. There are killings but you don't see most of them in any detail. Its power is in the way it makes you feel sympathy and understanding for a serial killer.

By modern standards it's quite crudely made in some ways, yet in others it's very advanced for its time. And remember that it was made in 1960. That's nearly 50 years ago. But will as many people still be interested in the blood and gore, in-your-face shocker horror films 50 years after they are made?

It's a great film of it's time. Saw it when it first came out, thought it was great then and was very suprised when Anglo Amalgamated were, more or less forced to withdraw it after a very short time.

Makes you laugh that the Critics who slaughtered it, now think it's a classic. Hypocrites!!

Some of my favorite posters are over at

www.Worth1000.com

It's a PhotoShop 'fark' site where artists post their own stills or high-quality renditions of other (sometimes famous) stills.

And movie posters. A lot of the work is pure fiction - "Forrest Hulk", for example, with the green giant's back to us as his weight is breaking thru the park bench's wood slats.

Too many to describe, though. Worth A Thousand, indeed.

A smashing poster, and a watchable film from the Ealing school of realism. The Susan Shaw-Earl Cameron relationship is very telling.

The picture has gone Joe, but are you talking about Pool of London? If so, it's one of my favourites. The relationship bertween Earl and Susan is very well written and acted as are the reactions of others to them. It's an excellent film, complete with the young Leslie Phillips as an embryonic version of his later lecherous characters .... 'ding dong'.

Don't know where the poster went, Batman. Maybe you and Robin should investigate, keep you out of any trouble!!! But yes, I was talking about Pool of London, one of those engaging little films that British studios did so well in the 1940s & 1950s. London Belongs to Me and It Always Rains on Sundays also spring to mind. Incidently, the poster appears on my computer, and is in your reply as well. Great!

How strange .... I wonder why it doesn't show on mine. To the Batcave, Robin, and get out the Missing Poster Bat Location Detector ....
