Wow! 20 favourites!?...impossible task for me.... would be constantly editing and changing...

Some comments on above posts:

Oliver Reed - he used to frequent a particular British-type pub whenever he visited New England - I used that pub as a "local". Once he got rowdy and was arrested and jailed (overnight) with his 18 year old girlfriend. It was in the local rag for weeks... and the pub was delighted at the publicity! Wouldn't ya know... I wasn't there that night!!

Clitheroe Kid - WHAT A CARVE UP - I haven't seen that movie for years...saw it when it first came out (1962 ?), and again about 15 years ago. Great movie!! Likewise HOT MILLIONS - Maggie Smith is totally beautiful and charming... and Ustinov is unforgiveable....lol!! in TOPKAPI he gets a well-deserved Oscar for best supporting actor.

DB7 - DAS BOOT - the definitive WWII submarine movie - gold standard of the genre. And the same comments about THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY - in my opinion the best Western ever made. AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON - I adore Jenny Agutter... good special effects too... and music (Marcels' "Blue Moon" Credence Clearwater Revival "Bad Moon Rising")

Clive Saunders - Your quote - "What an absolute shower!" is from I'M ALL RIGHT JACK - a brilliant movie (that should have been shown during the 1970s heyday of union unrest!)

The 39 Steps - great movie - I prefer the Kenneth More version, although the original with Robert Donat is good. Not keen on the Robert Powell version though!

Yes NappieB, I agree - I'm Allright Jack is a brilliant film - incredibly incisive and well observed and a must-see critique of trades union/management relationships.
And it's very funny!!!

I recently watched The Naked Truth and Too Many Crooks again. I had found memories of TNT and it didn't disappoint, Mount, Sellars & Thomas on top form. I don't remember TMC being as good as it was, again a very good cast. Two classic British comedies.
Start every day with a smile and get it over with.

Was your movie career always that of an "extra" or "walk on", or would we know your face from any significant parts you might have been casted for ? ; if so, perhaps we might have seen you featured in a cast list of some worthwhile films ? You clearly have some interesting anecdotes to recount, and all utterly fascinating, I have no doubt.Why not recount some more ? I'd love to learn more about them.

I was a 'proper' actor working mainly in rep and touring theatre, but I used to do 'extra' and 'walk on' work too. The amount of film/tv work I did was very small.
