Films that bring a tear:
Rosa Luxemburg (Margarethe von Trotta), only when I first saw it at the MacRobert in Stirling, I was anxious not to cry in public, so swallowed the lump in my throat and had a stiff jaw for weeks afterwards. Dad had no such qualms, and was dabbing his eyes openly.
La Commune: Paris 1871 (Peter Watkins), especially when Le Temps des Cerises comes on the soundtrack over the end credits. That song gets me every time: I have Juliette Greco's recording of it, and it just tears me up because of its historical associations.
