Default Ice Cream/pop Corn Tray

Hello

A strange enquiry but does anyone know where in the UK I could get hold of a cheap, old cinema usherette's ice cream vendor tray? The plastic ones with a strap used to shelve popcorn and other refreshments while she stood in the aisle during intervals.

Thanks.

Anne Summers maybe?

(Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get a more helpful response!)

I'd knock on the doors of your local cinemas and theatres. It's absolutely amazing the amount of stuff they often have in their attics. Live theatres especially are famous for never throwing anything out. Try and get through to their management rather than just a caretaker or doorman and they may even let you have a look through their prop room. The smaller theatres are a lot less organized than the larger ones and their prop rooms can look more like bombsites than storage rooms.

I can attest to the 'attic' storage notion... we found a vintage cigarette tray and bought it from one of our old palace-theatres, and it goes so well with Mr Smartypant's French Upstairs Maid costume. I just wish he'd learn to walk better in heels. You'd think a 50-year-old man would have learned THAT in his life, after all...

Oh well... at least he's learned to keep the seams straight. Men... it's always something...

I'd let you borrow the tray but I'm keeping the usherette for myself!

All the best

Lovely, I was thinking of getting one for Charles in Somerset
(a friend of ours with a good home cinema)
Susan can go around at half time during the film show offering drinks on sticks!

I was also looking for a ticket booth for him
