Just quite interested in the fipside to meeting up with an actor or actress that is really nice. Anyone got any tales.

I have had two really awful experiences with John Cairney, once at a museum where i worked with the exibition staff, and on a second occasion when i was driving for a furniture removal company and had the misfortune of having to do his house move.

I will keep the names of obnoxious 'showbiz' people I met while either working as an actor or casually to myself. However, when I was briefly working as a waiter I served a man who was so horrible that he deserves to be 'outed'. Not a figure in the entertainment world, but a politician ... John Selwyn Gummer. What an arsehole!

Yeah. He was in Victim, not Irish though, hes a Scot. Did quite a bit of TV, The Persuaders, Special Branch, popped up in Danger Man and had his own show in the sixties called That Man Craig (i think that was the title) for BBC Scotland. He was most famed for his portrayal of Robert Burns on TV and stage.

He lest Glasgow for New Zealand in the Nineties but sadly he has returned.

Nope .... he was waiting for his wife to turn up. He was so rude the owner of the restaurant told him leave before he'd even ordered!

hello all , In the course of some of the work I have done I've met quite a few well known faces in me time, will list them and what my opinions of them were, sometime soon- ahem , of course if anyone's interested! Having said that the most obnoxious of them all has to be Steve McFadden....y'know him from the equally obnoxious "Eastenders"......he was surly and arrogant and a few other things too, which I won't mention here due to the liable laws!!!! Ta ta for now , Decks.

What on Earth has he got to be arrogant about? He's a fat whiskery bloke who can't act. Somehow, the fact that he is like that doesn't surprise me.

Not so much a nasty one as a sad one. My neighbour used to have the contract to transport the performers to a local theatre and said Jimmy Tarbuck (this is only a couple of years ago) talked as if he was still a major star. He actually said to the driver that he only came round the provinces because he felt that 'greats' such as himself had an oligation to bring quality entertainment to those outside London. Who was he kidding.

Panavision asked who have we met that was nice.

What I would like to know is who you thought to be a big disappointment. I always remember the actor John Cairney who had a part in the movie Jason and the Argonauts (1963) made in 1963. Came to our school. We were as excited as any eleven year olds would be at getting the chance at meeting the guy who was crushed by one of Ray Harryhausen creations. Anyway after the local paper had the pictures they were after he did not want to know and ignored almost every request for an autograph or questions. He was not being mobbed or harassed in any way..
