I paid £35 for Captain Phantom, but it was the last Max film I needed to complete my collection.
I seen on another thread that there is a video for sale some where for £140 (still cant get over that one), Whats the most you have ever payed for video or Dvd that you really wanted, the most i payed was £30 for The Secret Garden with Margreat O'Brien it was so hard to find that when i did find it i bought it. I also payed £25 for Trilogy of Terror a while back as i found it hard to find too. I would only pay that in Extreme case's when i really want a film and finding it hard to find.

I paid £16 for a half-hour programme that's now on e-bay every other day for £6.99 !Buy it Now!
But I don't care. I probably would have paid more, because at the time the guy was doing it off his own bat, with some otherwise unviewable footage........I thought it quite reasonable at the time.
I also paid about £16 (inc P&P from Austria..... No! Not that P&P!) for an Austrian language version of an otherwise unobtainable film. The dubbed voices were so crap I watched with no sound, like a Silent. I enjoyed it immensely.
Love is all.

Captain Phantom is in Italian .... so I just watched the pictures and listened to those wonderful voices. As it is a swashbuckler it was quite easy to follow!
Hi Carmel
In the very early days of video when everything was overpriced - I paid £39.95 for SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. I must have ran it over 100 times though so per play it probably worked out reasonably.
Of course I was 28 years younger, had no children and was doing well for myself - not like now when I scour the charity shops!!!

I've still got some very good laserdiscs, and a good player.
They were more expensive than DVDs, but they are much better quality even if they are a bit bulky
Steve
I'd rather that than £40 for Shaturday Night Fever!!.......name='IAN P']None of you collected laserdidcs then?now these were expensive,i remember paying £250.00 for one boxset, single titles anywhere between £30.00 and£60.00.i must have been frikin nuts, seeing as what you can get now.the price of progress eh

I once made someone pay over £30 for a magazine. I could tell they were determined to have it and their interest wasn't mine (wouldn't hurt a fellow-minded-fan) so I bluffed it up and up......
I got the collywobbles at £30 because I thought they'd given up......
But no! Up they went! I called it a day after that.........
On the other hand, I recognised a fellow-fan once and held off bidding so as not to force the price up. I exchanged e-mails afterward, explaining our common interest and my honourable 'stepping back'. I thought I might get a photo-copy as my reward........ but no........ So much for honour amongst fans!
It's a jungle out there!
