Having seen the longer trailer for Wallie, I actually think it looks quite good, however I have to agree with all your other comments.
To Epsom Odeon with my 6 year old daughter for Nim's Island, a just-about passable children's film set in the Pacific - at least it had a female lead, a very rare occurence in kid's films, sadly.
Anyway, the trailers suggested how bereft hollywood is these days at making intelligent films for kids. Another Eddie Murphy vehicle, this time with characters inside his body making him work, then a computer animated robot story, very colourless and drab looking with a crap story by the looks of it too, and finally Dreamworks latest effort - an animated panda kung-fu flick. This was particularly awful, hardly a good joke in it by the looks of things, and its only merit was a snatch of the 1970s catchy 'Kung-fu fighting' tune ....my main thought was 'can this be THE SAME studio which produced 'Prince of Egypt' and 'Spirit' not so long ago?????Both films my daughter enjoyed, intelligent ones too.
How far has Dreamworks fallen. All for $$$$$ I guess

There's a kung-fu panda flick? But that sounds completely awesome!

Specialist appeal only, shurely?
Like a Panda sex flick, for other Pandas only; one would have thought...
Balls of Fury .... a 'wacky' comedy about the world of underground ping-pong.
