    Yes I agree with 'Ghandi'.

'Notting Hill', 'Four Weddings...', I think you know where I'm going with this.

Thank you Batman, bloody thank you. I thought I was nuts when I saw this film and didn't buy into the hype.

Atonement is the best british film I've seen for a few years...Trainspotting was fine if cliched...Shallow Grave, from the same team, was excellent.

    Atonement

    Trainspotting

    Shallow Grave

    The English Patient

    Ghandi

The above are all brilliant films - all the rest in this thread are crap - even 4 weds & a fu - although I was in it - but I can't stand that pretenious twit HG - I only did it because the lovely, gorgeous, sexy AM was in it - because I'm worth it.

Great film, maybe too brutal and honest for some.

Fish Called Wanda, I didnt rate it at all. I am a big fan of Michael Palin but I couldnt get on it it at all. I did enjoy Palin in The Missionary and Private Function.

Cleese in "Clockwise." was ok his character is a bit of a toned down version of Fawlty but its fairly pleasant and I enjoyed again when I had it as a giveway in the paper last year.

Brutal yes .... honest no. The characters are dramatic creations and bear very little relation to most real drug addicts.

It is very stylised film. After reading the book I didn't find it very brutal.

Hmmm, there are so many films that I consider over-rated piles of poo, it's very hard to know where to start.

But I think if I had to name the biggest steamer I ever endured, it would be Legends of the Fall.

Closely followed by The English Patient.

'Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels' - and all it's clones.

In fact any film made by Guy Ritchie.
