Not a genre I'm overly familiar with, to say the least. However, today I recalled the following film from decades and decades ago - and with a little diligent searching I managed to find a rough youtube version. Hope it triggers mind expanding childhood memories for you as it did for me:

As you'll note, it's by Eva Szasz. I was hopeful that there may be a dvd compilation of her work but alas, nope. Not that I can find.

I rather enjoyed The Sandman and another one about a little girl with a balloon who is chased by a Dick Dastardly-type rotter - the name escapes me, but I've got it somewhere on a DVD-R about the Animated Shorts season on BBC4.

    Slightly longer is The Periwig-Maker.

Stop-motion puppet animation wrapped up in a classic short story, my favourite version of the classic childrens short story.

I'm currently reading up on the short cartoons of the fifties up until 1967. Did you know that the reason they were all ten minutes or under was so that the producers didn't have to pay for a second session to the voice men! Hannah-Barbera/LooneyTunes/Filmfair/Flieshman et al, would not pay! It all changed in 1967 when a new SAG agreement made it mandatory to pay artisits what they worked.

Trivia, I know, but I just thought you may find it interesting........

I think the Oscar-winning, classic, Bugs Bunny cartoon What's Opera Doc ? takes a lot of beating. There is avery good print on Youtube.

Thanks for this, I love cartoon realted trivia, particuraly with regard to the cartoon voice actors.

Its funny i have many like minded friends in work who have similar interests to me, but whenver I mention cartoon voice artists I get blank expressions, unless its something to do with the Simpsons.

I have been fascianated with the cartoon voice people since I was a child and am familiar with all the big names like Alan Reed, Jean Vander pyl, Mel Blanc, Don Messick and the versatile Daws Butler voice of Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound amongst others.
