One of the most interesting appearances of a Corrie actor I have seen in a britfilm is the cameo by Jack Howarth as a bowls player in Spring of Port and Wine.

Most people are familiar with some of Johnny Briggs cameos especially in 633 Squadron.

Another one I am familiar with is the appearance of Pat Phoenix in the L Shaped Room, but I new nothing about the part she played in a Manuncan pictures film that I recently saw a clip of on Youtube.

I am sure that Margot Bryant (Minnie Cadlwell) has a part in Beat Girl.

Bryan Mosely Alf Roberts is one of Harry H Corbetts mates in Rattle Of A Simple Man.

    Anyone know anymore.

Bryan Mosely (Alf Roberts) is in Get Carter ((1971) .... played Brumby )

Michael Caine told him "You're a big man, but you're in bad shape. With me it's a full time job. Now behave yourself. "

Johnny Briggs played a milkman in the film version of Man About the House (as Johnnie Briggs),The Leather Boys (1964),Cosh Boy (1952),Quest for Love (1971),Ups and Downs of an Handyman and loads more.

Johnny Briggs was also in Light Up The Lights with Tommy Steele

I don't know if tv movies count, but I rated Sarah Lancashire in Gentlemen's Relish with Billy Connelly

Len's son Peter Noone was in Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter

I'm sure Ena's grandson Davie Jones must have done a few movies, both with and without The Monkees. Wasn't one called Head

Kenneth Cope, Sonny Jim, or Jed Stone, played Sid James' son in a 70s Carry-On movie called CO Matron

Jack Watson, a beau of Elsie's, was in several movies like The Wild Geese and Grand Prix

Shane Rimmer, who killed Steve Tanner, was in The Spy Who Loved Me, Ghandi and voiced Scott Tracy in two Thunderbird movies

I was surprised to see a young William Roache (Ken Barlow) playing a bit part in the film 'Bulldog Breed' (1961).

He was one of the staff working in the space centre.

After nearly fifty years of playing Ken Barlow it is difficult to think that he has done anything else besides Corrie.

I wonder if Bill Roache would find it weird to play another part other than Ken,these days, I know at one time I think he might have left the street for a brief time to do some theatre but that would have been a long time ago.

I know that back in the seventies and eighties Eileen Derbyshire(Emily) did a lot of plays on Radio Four. She used to turn up in radio versions of Peter Tinniswood's I Didnt Know You Cared, playing an Aunt of the Brandon family.

Barbara Knox(Rita) was another stalwart of the radio repotory company at BBC Manchester, she was still doing quite a bit of this kind of work even when she was established in the Street. Helen Worth was another one.

I also recall the late Graham Haberfield (Jerry Booth) being in a play on Radio Four shortly before his tragic early death.

Irene Sutcliffe who played Maggie Clegg has been inolved in radio for many years it was interesting to see her in an episode of Doc Matin last year playing the sister of another Corrie favourite Thelma Barlow.

What about a reverse scenario, film and theatre actor Sir Ian Mckellen appeared in 10 episodes in 2005, I think he was going through a quiet spell with theatre work

Actually,Mckellen is a big fan and fulfilled a lifelong ambition to appear in the soap.

He was a reporter in Robocop 2 ..... his wife at the time, Leeza Gibbons, was in it and she got him the part. He was also in International Velvet prior to joining the cast of Corrie.

Johnny Briggs was also in Cosh Boy and Chris Bisson (Vikram) has been in several Britfilms, most notably East is East.

wasnt Jack Howarth (Albert Tatlock) in the 1953 film version of Hobson Choice.

I know he was once in Mrs Dales Diary as a gardener called Mr Maggs, a bit before my time, however I do remmeber Mrs Dales Diary when it was retitled as The Dales.
