Freddy Mills used to appear in films I am sure our officinados will supply the titles but usually black and white where a spiv or shady but smart well used character was required. He was Light Heavyweight champion of the world in 1948 and night club owner. He was shot in the head June 1965. He had no convictions but was involved with the Kray Twins and the London gangster scene which probably cost him his life.

Quite a few names to post but what constitutes a villain? Someone who's been in prison or just heavies?

Robert Mitchum did time, as did Rory Calhoun. Tom Neal did time for murder after his film career was over. Tom Sizemore and Robert Downey Jr and more recent wrong doers. Errol Flynn was involved in numerous court cases. I don't think any of these blokes are considered 'heavies' though. George Raft had 'connections' and James Caan has admitted that he is 'connected' ....

Ivor Novello did time but I don't think you'd count him as a 'heavy'!

Chisel-chinned Bobby Ramsey was a Krays associate and seen in Long Good Friday: in pub (Watermans Arms?) seated, with hat when the distressed publican asked Bob Hoskins "Is that a gun, Harold?" "Would I come hunting you with my two fingers?" says Bob.

Some years ago Mr. Ramsey was working on a door and kindly offered me out for a fight, but I declined graciously and he tripped. Shame, cuz my dad got on well with him years before that.

what about daniel craig as one of the killers in the film about truman capote's story about "in cold blood". The film was called "capote". Good acting by daniel criag, especially the kissing scene with capote. Scary

We're talking about real villains who were also actors, not villains portrayed as characters in films.
