name='smudge']Have to say that I thought Rosamund Pike came straight out of the timber yard with her Bond performance.

Have seen her do better since, so it might have been the way the role was written.

By far the naffest female appearance in a Bond though was Madonna as her (implied) lesbian fencing coach. Diabolical- one of the worst post Cubby gimmicks exploited by the production team.

the whole pierce brosnan bond thing looked tired by that film ,its one of my least favourite .no wonder they had a clean sweep after it .

    Smudge,

The Avengers was one of the best series of the 60's and 70's, but that was despite Honor Blackman.

Her episodes aren't the ones generally remembered, as they were shot on videotape and seldom repeated, but by gum she looks good in them, and the sexual chemistry between her and Macnee fairly crackles in a way they avoided in future seasons.

IMHO Honor Blackman is a great actress. You don't sustain a successful career over six decades without possessing talent. With regard to a comment about Honor's so called 'inflated opinion of herself' .... I have heard her interviewed many times over the years and she comes across as quite the opposite.

I met Honor after she decided to relaunch one of her one-woman shows locally. Quite apart from being brash and career driven she was (as many people in the limelight can be) somewhat unsure of the performance and bits of the piece. She asked for any crits from those of us who were lucky enough to chat to her that evening, with the serious intention of reviewing things in the light of that first night.

She was delightful- unstarry, no spin, just a very nice lady who wanted to make sure she was giving the public the Honor that they wanted to see. Utterly charming.

Rosa Klebb! Only joking, luvvies - I'm sure Lotte was delightful really. Oh, and don't you still ache for Daniella Bianchi. even after all these years....? Don't get me started - I've not had me afternoon nap yet!

Halle Berry was dreadful. Why give her double-entendres when she's clearly incapable of using them?

    No-one's mentioned Madonna yet. Excruciating.

Interesting divergence of opinion on Honor Blackman. I think sexual chemistry is EXACTLY the right phrase. I've got most of her episodes on video - wonderful stuff.

Interestingly, I do think Patrick Macnee achieved a similar chemistry with Diana Rigg. Perhaps he had a special touch with his women?
