Laughton is the greatest !!....and the film the best adaptation of Moreau I've ever seen...... (Rien que ça !!/ Just that !!)

The original camera negative of this film is long gone but a newly struck 35mm print of ISLAND will have a special screening in my area in a few weeks (at Loew's Jersey City, for any of my fellow state-siders who are interested.) Hopefully, a dvd release will be forthcoming. The old, officially released VHS copy was only fair at best.

I have a DVDR of IOLS which was taken from laserdisc ... the quality is pretty good.
