I watch this at least once a year. It is a lovely little ghost tale, very atmospheric. There have been better variations on the same theme over the years, but Return to Glennascaul retains a certain charm that is impossible to replicate. One of my all time faves.
A jokey little number with plenty of Wellsian in-jokes - starts off in rehearsals for his Irish theatre season and a joke about his troubles with Othello - I'm having problems with my distributer to.
Marky B,
Drop me a PM if you need a copy of this.
It's a charming period piece. Nicely subdued performance by Welles and also enriched by careful use of music in the soundtrack. A good ghost story and well worth repeat visits..

This Orson Welles short film is an extra on the OTHELLO (1952) DVD. Worth the price alone...
Oh yes, I remember seeing it as a child and loved it. It was on many years later and I recorded it on video, but the tapes been lost, damnit. I'd love to see it again, it would make a good extra on one of Welles' other films, Chimes at Midnight, maybe.
Just followed your link, Marky, and found that it is available as an extra on Welles' Othello! Now I have to get that, just for Return to Glannascaul.
