Me (again).
I have a VHS of it in the loft I think ..... I liked it .... Sarrazin was excellent as the monster but it is a bit cheesy in places.
Does anyone remember this?

I think they mean 'true' as in the sense that it's closer to the book that Boris Karloff lumping about in platform shoes.
I haven't seen this since my high school days! But I remember it made quite an impression at the time. I recall people occasionally breaking out with "Polydory - ah-hah-hah-ha!" at unexpected moments.
I also remember the monsterwhich was probably for the best.Spoiler:
I saw this recently on dvd. I suspect it was more groundbreaking when it came out in the 70s, but it's still very watchable and a contains a treasure trove of good actors.
I'm pretty certain this is out on R1 DVD for anyone interested.
I saw the full-length version a long time ago on TV and remember thinking it was pretty entertaining (agree with Mr Fox that it features many well-known actors). Plus its probably the only movie where
(SPOILER)
you get to see Jane Seymour's head pulled off.

It is. I rented it off Netflix.
Hi.
I am not sure why this contained THE TRUE STORY in its title. It does not come that close to the book by Mary Shelly. I saw it on television some years ago. I am inclined to agree with most of what has already been said.
Alan French.
I do mate. The best version I've see so far. I did not enjoy Karloff's pantomine or Deniro's efforts come to that..What ever happened to Michael Sarrazin anyway, the last time I saw him was in a movie about this woman who had a house load of cats it was prity good. I liked him...![]()

What made me bring this subject up was after seeinghim last week in an episode of Murder She Wrote, where he played a Holier Than Thou Amish husband, who turned out not so Holier Than Thou.
