Cinema Hold More Adult Only Screenings After Demand Grows | Showbiz News | Sky News

    What a great idea.

Seems it's proving very popular in some UK cinemas.

I know I usually keep away from the cinema during the school holidays.

This sounds like the greatest idea ever.

Not that I'm bitter about sharing my viewing time with popcorn-hurling little hoodies.

I quite relish the idea of a child free cinema sitting.

I had to endure a little dear running up and down the aisles during Quantum of Solice!

Naturally, that raises a number of questions about the appropriateness of the film for a child, but I was equally concerned about the bottomless rattly plastic bag the 'mother' (and I use that term in every conceivable sense) continually delved into for treats and toys for the little darling.

Adults can be equally bothersome, but at least I wont have to look up to find one staring at me with a melting ice cream perilously close to my handbag.

Yeah right! Sorry to put the dampers on this great idea but I`m sure it`ll be stopped when the human rights do gooders will say its not fair on the children or parents who demand thier little darlings come in with them!

Then of course if they don`t get thier own way they will sue the cinemas!

    xx

I like the idea myself. I mean, I've been to R rated films where some parents insist on dragging a 2- or 3- year old toddler to. Nice going, not.

What a good idea. I can only hope it catches on up here. We have the empire multiplex cinema in Clydebank. Believe me when I say it’s a b****y nightmare. Kids constantly running in and out, talking loudly and b****y mobile phones going constantly. When you go looking for a member of staff to complain to they are nowhere to be seen. Twice in the last four months I have walked out half way through a film and demanded a refund or tickets for another screening much later in the evening. The most recent was Quantum of Solice.

God times have changed. When I was a boy we would sit glued to the seat when a Bond film was on. I’m just going to wait now for the movies to come out on DVD. The management just don’t give a toss now. They are more interested in seller stinking popcorn .

Ok, that’s my gripe over for the day..
