Not entirely. Some years ago in the USA there were Supreme Court judgements meant to aid equal rights mainly to help heal racial tensions of the 60's and 70's. Feminist groups used these judgements to attack the male bastions. Rotary Clubs and various men's organisations and golf clubs etc. found it was illegal to exclude females from various parts of their formerly male preserves. The movement now covers much of the social fabric of our lives and ladies are depicted machine gunning, delivering whacking punches to defenceless blokes and generally being top dogs (bitches?) among the goodies and the badies.
Loads of newish films have this thread where charm has given way to brute force, The Librarian comes to mind, and not to forget Steed's partners against crime. Lara Croft is another branch of this movement where the hero has a high ogle factor which can sometimes cheapen and undo all the good work.
It is progress, sometimes to be regretted when the ladettes are out on the pull Saturday nights in the city and town centres.
