I'm thinking here about something that made you laugh till it hurt.

My choice would be the scene in Modern Times (1936) where Chaplin is chosen to demonstrate a new auotmatic feeding machine for factory workers so they don't have to stop for lunch. Never forget it!

Chaplin for me too, to no-one's surprise here....but from his earlier short, The Cure, set in a sanatorium for alcoholics. The sequence where he's in the Turkish Bath for a massage, which degenerates into a wrestling match and a chase, made me laugh so hard I was ill when I was a kid....and it's still fabulous....funny, balletic, fantastically choreographed.....

    It's a Gift (1923) with Snub Pollard

The contrast on that version isn't great but it's a lovely film. So clever and inventive

There's a shorter clip in better quality, with a commentary, at [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJVNEcHl_O8]YouTube - Snub Pollard in IT'S A GIFT (1923)[/ame]

One scene that I always find hysterical, is the one in the beginning of one of the Pink Panther films, where Peter Sellers is outside a bank when there is a robbery taking place inside which he is oblivious to, culminating in him handing the thieves a bag of money they dropped as they were getting into in a getaway car.

The scene where the Deltas take their dates to the black nightclub in "Animal House." (Actually "Animal House" is a treasure trove of funny scenes imo)

The very last scene of "Sons of the Desert" where Stan is hit from behind by Ollie's saucepan.

In fact, the whole film has loads of those moments.

Chaplin in Modern Times is brilliant.

As for funniest scenes, the scene in It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World where the gang is on the top of the fire engine ladder that eventually goes haywire due to the weight of the people at the top. Great movie.

I have'nt seen this in a while. Bob hope in either "The Paleface" or "Son

    of...."
. The scene where he's about to take on the local baddie & the

townsfolk are giving him advice. "He leans to the left & shoots to the right",

"He feints with the right & moves to the left" etc, which leaves poor Bob totally

    confused!

The first 25 minutes of "Follow A Star" starring Norman Wisdom. After that the film goes down hill. But those first minutes are very funny.

The school play in "Carry On Teacher."

Terry-Thomas cameo in "The Abominable Dr. Phibes" with the spinning handle - I think it's so hilarious and so T-T and in a very campy gothic film, it's absolutely hilarious

The mirror scene in "Duck Soup" (in fact, all of the film really)

The train ride in "Go West"

Alastair Sim enduring the trio playing in "The Green Man"

Norman Wisdom's German singing with Hattie Jacques in "The Square Peg"

John Cleese's continuous running when he never gets any closer in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"

"Airplane!" pretty much all of that

Chaplin's Heinkel speech in "The Great Dictator"

Peter Sellers trying to get over the moat in "The Pink Panther Strikes Again"

The closing gag of "The Ladykillers" Those who've seen it will know which one I mean
