Default Tell No One

Am I allowed to recommend a French film currently doing the rounds? Just been to see it and am bubbling. This is the best film I have seen this year and one of the best ever. Very involved plot, too involved to even try to explain, except that a Dr's wife dies and then eight years later someone sends him an email showing a real time video of her with a message saying "tell no one - they are watching"

Apparantly it is already the highest grossing French film and I'm not surprised, It even has multiplexes talking about showing foreign stuff now!

FB, thanks for the tip - as always. You and those stalker films have really got me going at home these days. I think I'm turning into Mrs Harry Caul...

Harry Caul is the lead character in the 1974 THE CONVERSATION with Gene Hackman as Mister. In the end, he demolishes his abode, thinking someone's stalking him, tracking him, eavesdropping, etc. Fareham has sent me a couple of good and foreboding stalker-types but TELL NO ONE opens this weekend here, so I'm looking forward to seeing that. I'm sure it's a musical-comedy, probably with the Rockettes dancing and singing their way around Paris - after all, why would FB continue to scare the bejeezus out of me with his film-recommendations?!!

I for one would be disappointed if we were not allowed ,there are some wonderful european films/directors/actors both past and present and many have links to and found a home in British cinema.

Post Ne le dis à personne

Ne le dis à personne - Tell no one.

Thanks Fareham. Sounds like a great movie.

A copy is winging it's way to me as I type this. It's available at Tell No One - DVD & VHS - MovieMail UK

It has a great review and could become a classic amongst thriller fans.

Thumbs up Highly Recommended

Can I also be so bold as to recommend a foreign movie, just this one time. I don't know if it has been released in the UK, but it's called The Great Raid and it's a true story.

Set in the Philippines in 1945 towards the end of WWII, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Henry Mucci and Captain Robert Prince, the 6th Ranger Battalion undertake a daring rescue mission against all odds. Traveling thirty miles behind enemy lines, they intend to liberate over 500 American Soldiers from the notorious Cabanatuan Japanese POW camp in the most audacious rescue ever.

I can guarantee it's an excellent movie and will keep you glued to your seat. I have never cheered or "high fived" anyone at the end of a movie but I did at the climax of this film. Hope you get to see it and enjoy it.

Thanks for the tip. This film did not appear in the UK as i would have seen it.I have always been interested in Corregidor and Bataan having visited the area about 30 years ago.The film has a very respectable 6.9 rating on IMB.It cost $70 million to make but only got back $10 million in the States.I have taken a chance and purchased a copy on amazon.

My pleasure lord. I'm too impatient to wait for the postman to come back to work so am going to pay full whack tomorrow, down a bottle of decent sparkling rosé and enjoy again!
