I really Dont know Steve but im sure if the record company didnt he would have Because he Believed in and Loved what he was Doing.......
Record Companies dont throw Money around as we all know' they pick and choose who they believe will make them a profit....thats their standpoint' to them its business "MONEY"

A good example is the White Ladder Album By David Gray' due to the Reluctance of the record companies he re mortgaged his house to record the Album.

A self financed piece of work that remains the biggest selling album in Ireland to date.......
but He Didnt do it for Money he did it because he believed in what he was creating..

The problem isn't really with the superstars and the salaries they get. It's all the other people involved. All the people in front of and behind the camera. How will they get paid?

We'll no doubt discover, if the global recession continues and businesses start to fail in the industry) that most of those people are overpaid or unecessary.

I've often thought, whilst reading credits, that stars having individual hair and make-up artists, costume desiners and runners is completely ridiculous. Studios that pay 10 million to a star for a film should make the star self-employed for the duration of the film and therefore responsible for their own stylists, gophers, caterers, trailers, packs of Smarties with all the red ones taken out etc etc etc.

I'm sure a movie with a £250million budget must spend at least 20% of that on unecessary bollocks.

Quite possibly. But that still leave £200 million to be found. How many individuals can afford that?

Movies still do well in theaters. The internet isn't going to seriously hurt the making of movies the way it has the recording history. Illegal downloads hurt DVD sales. They should stop worrying about hurting DVD sales and put more emphasis on inexpensive legal downloads. They will simply have to adjust their budgets so DVD sales are less important. The movie industry survived television before there were videos. Get their average budgets down to half what they are now, and with actor salaries sometimes more than half the budget, it shouldn't be a problem. But the studios are going to have to stand up to their big actors, most of whom aren't worth the big bucks anyway, which they haven't had the stomach to do.

I use the sites when I trawl for old or unfashionable music to fit my video hobby, not sufficiently musical to create my own soundtrack. A big site went down recently, Limewire under the weight of writs against them. These sites are not without risk from keyloggers, trojans and other malware, remember peer to peer could mean someone quite nasty at the other end, they are not all geeks unfortunately.
