There's good news and there's bad news.......... 10/10 & 0/10.
I have enough trouble remembering the 4 numbers in an existing IPv4 address like 91.151.213.145
It's a god job I don't have to remember them, my computer does that for me

Yesterday I had a message to upgrade to Internet Explorer 9. I downloaded it & had all sorts of trouble. I lost internet connection,
all my favourites disappeared & my own attempts to do a system restore failed. I have internet support & I contacted them & it's now
fixed but on the Britmovie site all the links (new posts, arcade, profile etc) are missing from the top of the page.
Can anyone help?
I apologise if this is in the wrong thread!!
I can help. Don't use Internet Exploder
Use a decent browser, any other browser, and help break the Micor$oft monopoly
Try Firefox. It's free to download, as are all other browsers like Google Chrome, Safarai etc etc

Wadsy, did you try a 'system restore' to a time before you dowloaded IE9?
Click 'Start' and type in 'restore'. It should open the System Restore wizard. You can enter a time prior to downloading which will take your computer back and restore it to how it was before.
I had to do it a few weeks ago when I lost all sound after downloading something.
Always set a system restore point immediately before downloading new software as a safety net so that you don't have to go back too far and lose valuable data.![]()
Thanks Steve.
I do have a problem with firefox though. I am trying to sign into my ebay & youtube accounts but there are no boxes shown
where to sign in. It says member name & id code but the screen is just white!![]()
Yes, not sure if i'm off topic here, but i found more and more with Firefox 4 that i had to use !E to get some pages/forms/links to work properly. I've gone back to 3.6.17 Maybe other browsers would work as well as IE, but Firefox recently has become a nuisance. Could this be an IPV6 issue?

I'm starting to have problems too. I cannot download Adobe flash player (I've tried about 10 times). I tried to switch to google chrome
but I can't download that either. It's a real headache!!![]()
I had problems trying to download 'Flash' when I got my new PC a couple of months back....I tried and tried for ages installing and uninstalling and it kept telling me it was installed when it wasn't - and then discovered that they'd built my new PC with Windows 7 64-bit software which won't take Adobe Flash.
I had to download Flash 'Square' from their labs especially for 64-bit systems. It's fine, but I do have to use 'Compatibility Mode' occasionally in IE9 and I had to download Javascript for both 64-bit AND 32-bit.
I've never had problems downloading Adobe Flash before though - certainly not with 32-bit software.
It's getting strange now. My on line help couldn't get google to appear on IE so they uploaded IE9 then downloaded IE9 then uploaded IE8.
Google appears now on IE8 (along with my favourites) but when I log on to Britmovies IE8 stops working. This does not happen with my other
favourites & indeed Adobe flash downloaded ok on IE8. I can only access Britmovies using firefox on which I cannot download Adobe flash so my
arcade activities are kaput! I'd try to change to google chrome but I'm scared of buggering my computer up again!!![]()
On IE, do you have the option of 'Compatibility View' - an icon to the right-hand side of the box with the current URL in that can be toggled on and off?
