Are you saying that your DVD recorder doesn't have a facility to make chapters in hard drive recording? I find that extraordinary.
I occasionally record TV onto the HDD of a DVD/HDD machine and then transfer to DVD to archive and free up HDD space. I would like to divide into chapters otherwise I have either to watch the whole thing at one go or FF the next time, which is tedious with a 2hr film. My machine (Samsung) does not have the facility to do this, so I'm guessing I'll have to transfer to DVD then use a PC to do the chapterisingifying. Does anyone know of a fairly simple (and preferably free as I rarely do it) program which will allow me to do this? TIA!

I transfer saved films/programmes onto a memory stick and transfer to PC, then use a nifty free programme
DVD Flick
to turn the file into DVD format and you can set chapters during conversion.
Thanks for that Richard. Sadly there's no USB but luckily its a few years old and will need replacing soon so I'll make sure the new one does. I'll certainly download DVD Flick. Cheers.
