Whenever I try to watch anything on 4oD or the ITV iplayer the ads before the programme play, but at the point where the programme is due to start I get a blank screen with message "An error is occurred trying to play the chosen item" - does anybody know what the problem could be?

No, I'm in the UK. My isp is AOL - I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

AOL always did impose too many restrictions on what they let their subscribers see and do on the internet. They used to limit them to a browser with a very small window

4OD & BBC iPlayer use different software. AOL might allow one but not the other. Ask the AOL help desk - good luck with that

    Have you tried

TVCatchup - Never Miss A Show Again

I have so far had no bother with them at all and the stutter which is present when watching itv player doesn't occur via catchup. A good range of channels as well. You have to register but that's all.
