Does anybody know why I can`t get my e:mail on windows 7.I bought a laptop last week because my computer broke and I set up my mail from Virgin to go to windows live mail 2011.Everything seemed to work as all my em:ails went flooding in then I didn`t get any more but they were on virgin so I followed the instructions step by step but the same thing keeps happening. It is a bit of trouble having to go to Virgin and put my password in every time I want to check my mail so any help would be most welcome.

What are you using to read your emails? If you're using Outlook or Windows Live Mail then throw it away and use Thunderbird instead. Thunderbird isn't full of security holes like Outlook is. Thunderbird will also let you specify your email server (Virgin) a lot easier than anything created by Micro$oft ever will

Thunderbird is very good, better than outlook express, I found it easy to install as well. I use Opera browser a lot and no problems in that area as well.

Agree about Thunderbird, there is also the Lightning add on, which is a calendar.

I used to use Thunderbird, which was very good (Outlook is awful), but since going over to Virgin, I just read my emails using the online 'media mail'.

Don't know much about Outlook or other email software these days as I just use Google Mail but the problem sounds like 'Tick-Box Failure'.

Somewhere in the set-up process, you may have missed a tick-box which allows the connection to be persistent, ie to remember the vital details to automate the process?

It seems to work for a little while then not.I was wondering if there is something wrong with the save changes button on Virgin as I keep re-doing it to see where I went wrong,if I press the button which sends the mail I already have it goes in then I don`t get others unless someone sends one soon after.
