I have a dvd burner on my computer, But as a mere female (sorry all you feminists), i really do not know how to use it. Can anyone tell me what soft ware etc i need to be able to download, save and burn tv films and other dvd's, please.
Free soft ware if avaliable, but if not a really easy to use. I may need spep by step idiots guide as to how to do it, but you would be helping me to achieve something!!!! ![]() |

Software is a subjective thing - different people will choose one brand over another according to which features are best etc.
Myself, I use Nero for the actual ordering and burning of files. To download movie files from the internet you will need what is called a client: again purely a matter of choice as tyo which works best for you. In my case uTorrent. The 'client' will organise your downloads and store them in whichever section of your hard drive you choose. An idiot's guide would be rather a long list of things to check! No doubt myself or any of the other estimable users of this site would be more than happy to pm you through the minefield of how to use the dvd burner! Good luck! ;) |

I won't overload you with details of different software you might need. But one you should have is DVD Shrink. It does a whole lot of useful things
And DVD Decrypt too. Best thing is that both are free and easily downloaded.

It depends on how much you save on disks? If your like me (a lot of material) dont use disks anymore
![]() Dvd disks are on the way out with all the new mediaplayers, cheap ones and the really costly players. If you have one of those, all you do is connect your PC (or external hard disk) to the media player with a USB cable (if the machines are close to each other) or a regular network cable from the PC to the mediaplayer and then you just stream the downloaded files /music/film/tv. You can have up to 500 gigabites hard disks on most players (will be more costly) or a player with no disk and use the one in your PC. The really nice thing with mediaplayers is that you can stream 1080p files (high resolution) directly to your TV (IF your TV has hd resolution) If your mediaplayer has a hard disk and you can often use it as a server, i.e. a seed box to get major ratio on your tracker(s) Opssssss.......Im asuming here you have at least a HD Ready slim LCD or Plasma telly?? All it takes is a few clicks. If your interested PM me and I will give you some links to mediaplayers |
