Interested to know if anyone else bought the uk dvd release of 'Ice cold in Alex'?
(WB studio canal). My copy certainly has a small (but significant) fault. In the scene when they're pulling Anthony Quale out of the quicksand, Sylvia Syms is told to reverse the ambulance - to which she replies "I can't drive". The fault is on the word 'drive' It's missing from the soundtrack!.. While i'm here, i may as well mention Quadrophenia uk (universal) more sound distortion in the seen when 'Jimmy' is walking up stairs at home, and listening to his mum and dad squabbling in bed "oh i've always got to go to sleep - i'm fed up with it" Also considering this film is not exactly ancient (1979) i'm surprised they didn't clean it up a bit for dvd release. Certainly my old VHS copy was considerably better..

The classic film Dead of Night on the “Ealing Box” set, is a pretty awful print. To make matters worse apparently the one used for Region 1 is much better!
