Default Network DVD Box Sets - Urgent help needed

This will make me appear terribly thick, but although I have owned about a half-dozen Network sets, I've always had the utmost difficulty in getting the disks out of the case.
Usually, after much effort and swearing, it finally comes away, but my new Gideon's Way has defeated me.
Please, someone tell me - how does their retaining system work??
I'm terrified of snapping a disk and the whole thing has me

Ta xx

btw - Janedaw can't do it either, so if the forum can't help, we'll have to dragoon a passing twelve year-old.

They are a bit tricky, but the best way is to keep your thumb on the centre clip and ease them off using the edge of the disk.

By coincidence I was playing GIDEONS WAY today and had the same problem with it. Agree with the advice given above.

I must be a denizen of the Village of the Damned because I didn't have a problem with it and I normally have trouble with scissors, door handles, toner cartridges, the twenty first century...

Me too and not just with Network products.

What batman said usually works for me. Once I've removed the shrinkwrap which suppliers seem to weld on...................

Oh, I've got a tip for shrinkwrap.

Try running the encased tape/dvd down the edge of a table or something else with a defined edge. It tends to give you a good start and doesn't damage the product.

If that doesn't work.. swear, throw it in the bucket and wait for the film to get shown on TV.

Re shrinkwrap .... just pierce it with a small knife where the finger grip is on the box, then separate the gap in the shrinkwrap with the knife and enough should split free so that you can peel it off.

Thanks for the interest, everyone.
I now seem to have some hope of removing the disks from the box without damage - but what a useless piece of design.
I have in my collection, a box set of Lytton's Diary by Delta, and this has the best retaining system I've yet seen, easy to remove, painless on the fingers and very secure.
I think I'll have to get on to Network and give them the benefit of my opinion on this matter.............if I can be arsed!

Cheers

Thanks gents for your suggestions on the shrinkwrap.

I usually use my boning knife on the area that batman mentioned.

So far i've not damaged the product or me

Ha!

She was only a butcher's daughter -
But she could lie on the slab and say fillet.

Or is that Fishmongers?

Fishmongers I feel sure also use knives for boning! And their fingers always smell of scampi fries...

QED!

All men leak.

I don't wish to know that - kindly leave the thread.

PS. Not the most techie thread we've had, is it. Poor thing, but mine own.

Later I shall be asking how to open a door.

It all depends on the ratio between the size of your hand and your knob!
