That's your first mistake, getting a machine with Vista on it. There are lots of problems reported with it. Can you change it for a system running XP?

Did you save the file as a text file and try to attach it or try to copy and paste it into the email or did you try to email it from within Word?

what was the file extension of the list you saved?
I used openoffice some years ago and think there is a choice of file extensions to save it as, ie word is usually .doc
Might be the problem

The only problem with having an open mind is that others keep trying to put things in it...

Good luck, Marker (from a fellow Public Eye fan). Hope you sort this problem out soon.

I have a similar problem with Vista on this new Laptop I access the Internet with and that I've had since last November. If, for instance, I want to copy and paste something I've written from my documents folder into the message box on the Britmovie Forum, all I have to do is press ctrl and V and it pastes in. But if I use the same method to copy and paste into my email box, a message comes on the screen saying that Internet Explorer is closing down and so it does and I have to log on again. Very odd.

Vista was already on the Laptop when I bought it. I never had any problems like this when I was accessing the Internet on my old computer which ran on XP. But my old computer wasn't Broadband compatible (too out of date to have the right USB ports on it), which is why I had to buy this new computer. Oddly enough, if I want to copy and paste some text from the Internet into an email, it works fine. It just won't copy and paste from My Documents.

Nobody ends like they started out.

Everyone has problems with Vista. It was only half finished when they released it and they've since given up on it because they've moved on to their next system.

I'm due to get a new laptop soon and my most important requirement was NOT VISTA!

Judging by recent experience, '7' should be OK
"NT" was OK
"2000" was only half finished
"XP" was OK
"Vista" was only half finished
"7" should be OK

You can always get you Vista machine changed back to XP
