Default DVD binders?

With an ever growing DVD collection, I'm wondering if there's some kind of binder available on the market that has a sleeve for the paper DVD cover and one for the disc, so I can discard the plastic box...? There's plenty for sale for just disc storage, but nothing for the 'slip-in' covers.....unless anyone knows different!

That's a really good idea.
Why don't you write to some of the disc/photo binder manufacturers and suggest it? In the meantime, you can buy full-page plastic pockets to fit three-ring binders and you can also get full page disc holders. I think each one probably holds what? ... 4 or 6 discs? You wouldn't necessarily have every disc immediately next to its own sleeve but you'd still save a ton of space.

Yes, it seems odd that no one's made one, but I guess there's not that many many people out there with such huge DVD collections that they need to dispense with the boxes. Of course, several of us are in that same boat but we are probably a distinct minority...most people who buy the wallets are not using them for storing pre-recorded DVD's and CD's.

Why not just store the sleeve seperately in some kind of binders or files? More problematic is what to do with snapper cases, slipcases, boxes or other non-standard packaging. I think you probably have to be ruthless and just bin them...once you've made that first step it becomes a lot easier.

I found this one on Amazon and there is another one if you browse the site. Don`t know if this is the type of thing you are after but it does show someone is producing them.

This is worth looking at: CD DVD Blu-ray Storage Sleeves, Accessories, DJ Cases, Holders, Cabinets, Media/Multimedia Storage Solutions by DiscSox

Those look really good and exactly what I'm after too.
Only problem is with the postage to The UK is very high...the postage comes in at more than the actual product.

Does anyone know if these are sold anywhere in The UK, or of a similar product?

I totally agree with you on that.
What is needed is a UK distributer to make these available here.
Perhaps Amazon or shop/online retailer might be interested??

To me, those don't seem enough of a space saver. I'm currently paying just over a pound each for binders about 3 inches wide that hold 80 discs, but I've yet to find adequate storage for the sleeves, which are currently all in a box.

Try http://www.dvdbinders.co.uk this is a new British business just being launched which have custom design sleeves and binders which can store all the contents of standard dvd packaging without ruining cover art with unnecessary folds, which is also much cheaper than discsox.

I use these:

BigPockets.co.uk :: Amps CD carry case DJ style 1000 aluminium retail £27.99

and keep the sleeves and fat-packed outer packaging in lever arch box files. Saves masses of space.

I sold the plastic cases in job lots on ebay and they almost paid for the alternative storage solution.
