Default Problem with Panasonic DMREZ25EB

Help!!

I've had the above DVD recorder for over 12 months with no problems. However suddenly yesterday the picture only comes through in B & W. Have tried prerecorded DVD's that have previously been ok but still comes in B&W. Even just watching the TV is non-colour.

I've tried swapping the scart leads around to see if that makes any difference - but no.

I had to retune the machine after the digital changeover in our area.

Anyone got any ideas please?

It sounds to me like its a problem with your TV, check the display menu of your TV. Do you receive your normal digital channels from the DVD recorder? What make of TV is it BTW?

Is brand new Panasonic only about 2 weeks old.

Have had all working perfectly until yesterday. Had to retune TV when digital switch over but that wasn't a problem.

Don't understand why it suddenly started to go B/W just through the DVD. TV is still colour

Its your scart lead. I'm almost certain of it.

Make sure its pushed in all the way at both ends. If it is, try turning it around. Sounds daft I know but it sometimes works. Failing that try a different one.

Make sure both your TV and your recorder are set to to same format (ie Pal or NTSC playback.

Could be that you need to check that you have the right AV channel selected. Use the TV remote to select green, red, yellow or blue. You might find that does the trick.

I'm as mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore!

(1) Make sure that your DVD recorder is set to PAL output (not NTSC).

and...

(2) Make sure that both the DVD recorder SCART output is set
to VIDEO (not RGB) and the tv SCART input is set to VIDEO

or......

(3) Make sure that both the DVD recorder SCART output is set
to RGB (not VIDEO) and the tv SCART input is set to RGB.

How is your system connected up? For instance, which cables plug into what?
